What Happened to Current Events?

Posted on May 18, 2006 11:19 PM by Joel Comm

I used to blog about current events all the time. But lately, I've been writing far more about Internet marketing and my travels.

Why?

It isn't for shortage of material.

On the contrary, popular culture and politicians provide a plethora of opportunities for sharing a more rational point-of-view

My reasons for avoiding current events are far simpler these days.

The degree of ignorance and downright stupidity in the world makes my head explode.

We're talking "get the duct tape I can't handle another evening news report" 9.1 on the Richter scale head explosion here, folks.

So, allow me to share some tidbits of opinion that essentially tie together my feelings about current events.

  • The DaVinci Code - Great read, but is anyone really stupid enough to believe that this work of fiction is actually true?
  • Immigration - You want to become a citizen? Do it legally. Don't like it? Leave.
  • Hilary Clinton for President -One word. Apocolypse.
  • Tom Cruise - Get help, dude. Seriously.
  • Iran's crazy Ayatollah - Biggest threat to Israel since Hitler. Must be stopped.
  • The Democrat Party - Slipping into irrelevency
  • The Republican Party - Slowly joining the Democrats
  • Conservative principles - Making a comeback... time for a resurgence of common sense?
  • Gas prices - It's still cheaper than Europe, for crying out loud. Gee, wasn't this war all for oil? haha...

Uh oh, head... starting... to... explode.... must... get... duct... tape...
