Twitter Celebrities Come Together for Live 12-Hour Tweet-a-Thon

Posted on February 9, 2009 08:17 PM by Joel Comm

When John Wiley & Sons asked me to write the definitive guide on using Twitter for business, I knew we would have a best-seller on our hands. The pre-orders on the book are strong and the buzz is spreading without me doing any real promotion.

So I've decided to do something very special to celebrate the launch of Twitter Power.

On Thursday, February 19th, I will be conducting the world's first live broadcast Tweet-a-thon!

The twelve-hour event will take place concurrently on ustream.TV and Twitter.com, in an attempt to raise awareness and money for a fantastic organization that is working to bring clean water solutions to developing nations.

Hosted by myself and Dan Nickerson, the Tweet-a-Thon will feature over two dozen Twitter celebrity appearances by people such as MC Hammer, Wil Wheaton, Robert Scoble, Gary Vaynerchuk, Chris Pirillo, Carrie Wilkerson and many more.

All royalties earned from sales of my book, Twitter Power, on that day will be donated to Water is Life.

It's going to be a very exciting day, to be sure!
