Tivo or not Tivo? No brainer!

When I look back on the past few years of technological advancements, several computer-driven products cause me to wax eloquently.

My iPaq 3835 has been a trusty PDA for almost two years. But it has lost its shine and there are newer models that have stolen my affections.

My Dell laptop rocks, but in a mere few months I am certain its big brother will find me coveting at its front door.

My Pioneer CD carousel holds 300 discs, but just how much time do I have to listen to music anyhow?

tivo.jpgAh, but then there is my Tivo! I have owned this little gem of a device for over three years and it has not lost one ounce of love from me and my family. In fact, you might even say that our Tivo has become a PART of our family.

For those not in the know, Tivo is a digital video recorder which allows you to pause live TV and record programs with a simple push of the button. Oh, it has many more features than this, such as automatically recording an entire season of your preferred program, zipping past annoying commercials easily, and viewing photos from your PC on your television, via your computer network.

When Mary and I sit down in front of the TV, we often say out loud, "I wonder what is on Tivo?", knowing that our Tivo has undoubtedly recorded something that will peak our interest and satisfy our viewing habits. Even my young children were able to handle the Tivo remote with ease.

I have presented demonstrations of Tivo to countless friends and family members. Each is in awe at the power of Tivo and they want one for themselves.

Tivo has sold over 1,000,000 units so far, and the odds are you don't have one yet. You will. Best of all, they are getting less expensive. In fact, Amazon.com has a the Series 2 Tivo on sale. This is the 80-hour unit and there is a $50 rebates. So what are you waiting for? Get a Tivo and never watch TV the same again.
