Three Little Words

I've Got Three Little Words To Say To You...

No, not those words (although I'm sure you're very nice). I mean these three little words...

Just do it.

I know, Nike got there first. But they were right. You get nothing by doing nothing.

Back when I started out on the Web, becoming an online publisher meant buying a book about HTML the size of the Yellow Pages. It meant spending half a year reading it, another half a year writing the code... and another half a year fixing the bugs.

There was every excuse then for doing nothing, and continuing to dream.

Those days are over.

Today, you can be online -- with functioning, money-earning AdSense units -- in the time it takes to boil a kettle. Just sign up with Blogger, for example, and the registration will take a minute and the AdSense application another minute.

You'll still have to write your content. You'll still have to optimize your ads. You'll still have lots of work to do.

There are Internet millionaires. There are no overnight Internet millionaires.

Eventually, you'll probably want to have your own domain name instead of using one of Blogger's. You'll want more sites, more ads and a bigger range of ads. You'll want a steady stream of content and you'll want lots of traffic, of course.

And you'll want to go to the bank at the end of the month and deposit your checks from Google.

But for now -- right now -- you can be online.

So if you don't have a site yet, what are you waiting for. Just do it!

Guess the people know that they have to do something but they don't really know what to do. It is like a resolve with no plan and thus, nothing is done.
