Are you an entrepreneur?
From Dictionary.com, an entrepreneur is "a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, esp. a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk."
Considerable initiative and risk.
Because of this, entrepreneurs expect to win some and lose some.
But one thing an entrepreneur will never do is stop trying.
Over the course of my life, I've tried a good many things.
I started my own mobile DJ business.
I became an encyclopedia salesman.
I started my Internet business in 1995.
And most recently I created the world's first competitive Internet reality show.
Risk.
It is synonymous with being an entrepreneur.
There is never a guarantee that your endeavors will succeed or pay off.
In fact, entrepreneurs often fail more than they succeed.
But the true mark of a winner is the determination to try again, regardless of the cost or the critics.
Critics are a dime a dozen. Anyone can criticize. It doesn't take any special talent.
Oh, I do it from time to time as well. Let's face it. We all like to poke at other people or their ideas.
But the real question is, what do you do when the criticizing is over?
Do you try something that would be worthy of someone else's criticism?
If you don't step up and put yourself on the line by taking risks, you may find that you'll never reap the rewards.
Are you willing to assume risks and defy the odds? Are you willing to stick with it, give it all you've got and try again if you fail the first time?
You just may be an entrepreneur.
And you just may change the world...
