The democratic presidential primary run is one of the most entertaining current affairs that I have seen in a long time. You've got Howard Dean screeching like a lunatic. Wesley Clark is denying statements that he made on video tape, clearly enough for even my children to pick up on. Joe Lieberman has the charisma of wall paint. Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich are loud of mouth but small of significance. And now there is a breaking story concerning John Kerry and questions of infidelity. This from the Drudge Report:
KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUINA frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
I also find it amusing that people are taking the recent polls seriously, attempting to support the President's weakness with the American people. The fact of the matter is that the election is a LONG way away. The democratic lovefest in the media has been going on for months. Is it any wonder that the undecided voters (which I have absolutely ZERO respect for... what kind of person doesn't even know what they believe in?) are swayed towarded the democrats? Wait until the Republican machine gets churned up. Once the democrat nomination is secure, the truth about the winner's beliefs will surface, and he will be demonstrated to be a raving liberal kook. The American people will not accept this and Bush will coast to reelection.
Meanwhile, the circus continues...

Those best qualified to know a raving lunatic are probably raving lunatics themselves.
As long as rumors are fair game, how about the rumor that Bush played hookey from the National Guard?

Talk about old news... or, not news, as the case appears.
Hey, are you calling me a lunatic, Joel? I resemble that remark!

So, how many states will John Kerry carry? Should he be the nominee, what percentage of the vote in Oklahoma would Kerry get? (I'd say somewhere around 38%.)
Joel, I might wonder if you have gotten your rabies shot recently, but I would never suggest that you are a lunatic. ;-) And you might want to check for excessive drooling. ;-)

Hey, what is that running down my chin? ;-)
I am not certain Kerry is going to get the nomination. This affair could blow the race wide open. I am much more frightened of Edwards getting the nomination. So lets wait before we start calling states and percentages. I want to how this pans out a bit longer.

With the woman, the woman's parents, and Kerry all denying the affair, the story is unlikely to make a difference in the nomination. And I don't place a lot of stock in a Rupert Murdoch paper to tell a straight or fair story.

From the north side of the border...
I don't see anything completely appealing about either parties (aren't we all raving lunatics to some extent?). But, as a Canadian, I can say that we're not doing much better...(http://www.canada.com/national/features/undersiege/index.html)
