How Well Do You Know Your Business?

Posted on October 16, 2008 08:00 AM

Did you ever walk into one of those old mom-and-pop hardware stores, the sort of place where piles of dusty boxes filled with metal things are stacked from floor to ceiling and nothing's got a label on it? You walk up to the counter, explain what you're trying to do and the store owner nods, starts bringing down boxes and in no time at all finds exactly the widget you were looking for. Those people... Online Publishing Is Changing... Mostly

Posted on September 25, 2008 08:00 AM

This is a hugely exciting time to be an online publisher. It used to be the case that if you wanted to earn from ads on your website, there was only one thing to do. You signed up to AdSense, pasted in the code, optimized the units and brought in traffic while following your stats. You still have to do that. But these days that's just the beginning. If I Owned Twitter

Posted on July 27, 2008 10:34 PM

Social Media is all the buzz right now. It started with MySpace, continued with YouTube and has brought about Facebook, Twitter and a host of other sites promising the help people interact in new ways. These sites have become very popular and two were purchased for a tidy sum. Rupert Murdoch's News Corp purchased MySpace for $580 million and Google bought YouTube for for $1.65 BILLION. I'm sure the boys from Facebook and Twitter have... Continue Reading

WidgetBuck Secrets

Posted on January 11, 2008 03:18 AM

I love quick and easy changes that make a significant difference. A few months back, I learned of a contextual advertising service that was compatible with Google AdSense. It took me less than 15 minutes to place their code on my pages. In my first month, I made an additional $1000 just from that fifteen minutes. Not bad! And it gets better... Continue Reading

Follow me on Twitter

Posted on December 16, 2007 11:24 AM

Twitter this. Twitter that. Twitter, twitter, twitter. I must confess. I'm still not sure what the point is of Twitter. Basically, Twitter allows you to tell the world what you are doing at any given moment, embed a clever little widget on your site so they can keep up with you, and you in turn can see what they are doing. I'm not sure I get it. Nevertheless, apparantly millions of people do get it... Continue Reading

Entrecard

Posted on November 19, 2007 12:40 PM

When I was at Blogworld last week, I came upon the booth of a company called "Entrecard." Their display caught my attention and I introduced myself to the CEO, Graham Langdom. To my surprise, Graham is also the creator of The Million Dollar Wiki. The reason I was surprised is that I had become familiar with that site the week before and had purchased a few pages on the site! Anyhow, knowing how innovative Graham... Continue Reading

They change names, don't they?

Posted on September 30, 2004 12:15 PM

Andrew Wilson is a 43-year-old self-employed inventor living in Missourri. For whatever reason one might imagine, Andrew no longer goes by the name Andrew. A circuit judge granted him legal permission to change his name. So what's it going to be? Frank? Herbert? George? How about something freaky like Diana or Deborah? Nope. Our friend Andrew is far more creative. From now on, Andrew Wilson will be known as... They. Just "They". Not "They Jones... Continue Reading
