UStream.tv live from my iPhone!

Posted on March 28, 2009 01:34 PM

I've been a fan of UStream.tv ever since I discovered them a little over a year ago. Every Wednesday, I do a live show with my co-host Dan Nickerson. It's called Joel Comm LIVE! UStream has proven to be innovative as they continue to add cool features for broadcasters, including the ability to bring in co-hosts from other locations, add titles and also play YouTube or local videos within your program. Twitter Experiment #1 - Are Followers Active?

Posted on July 19, 2008 11:17 PM

While attending an Internet marketing conference in Chicago, I spent a lot of time networking with my peers. As I sat at the dinner table last night, I noticed that a bunch of us were twittering on our handhelds. Simon Leung, Donna Fox, Eric Farewell, Anik Singal and several others had their PDAs or phone out and were twittering away... sometimes to each other other, even though they were sitting across the table from each... The Sydney Opera House and Edward Scissorhands

Posted on June 11, 2008 12:46 AM

I need to back up a bit because I left out Sunday from my journal. On Sunday, I spoke at Chris Howard's "Ultimate Wealth Symposium" on the grounds of the Sydney Olympic Park. I had a fantastic time sharing my story with 800 or so people. I've got to say, the Aussies are a bit difficult to get moving, but I think everyone had a good time and learned a thing or two. I also... Continue Reading

Affiliate Summit West 2008 - A Meeting of the Minds

Posted on February 26, 2008 11:22 PM

I've just spent an incredible three days in Las Vegas at the Affiliate Summit. This gathering of nearly 3000 people was one of the largest concentrations of affiliate marketers in history. While I did enjoy some of the workshops, the greatest benefit was from networking with others in the industry. I finally got to meet famous bloggers such as Amit Mehta, John Chow, Andrew Wee and Zac Johnson, just to name a few. All these... Continue Reading

Total Lunar Eclipse - There is no dark side of the moon

Posted on February 19, 2008 04:16 PM

The Pink Floyd classic album, Dark Side of the Moon, is though to be the greatest rock album of all time. I might support that assertion. If you listen all the way to the end of the album, Roger Waters says, "There is no dark side of the moon. Actually, it's all dark." I know, it's profound. Still, the album is an absolute classic and one for every music-lover's collection. And speaking of the moon... Continue Reading

Almost There

Posted on August 14, 2007 04:37 PM

I have just come from the office where I have seen the rough cut of Episode One of The Next Internet Millionaire. WOW! This thing looks great! The intro is cool. The music is awesome. The teaching is solid. The storyline is compelling. The cast is entertaining. I am absolutely sure that you are going to love this show. Continue Reading

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Posted on June 4, 2007 10:06 AM

"It was a dark and stormy night." That may as well be the beginning of this newsletter, because I have started writing it five times now. I get past the first line, read it, and delete it. So I figure you just can't go wrong with "It was a dark and stormy night." Well, perhaps if I was writing fiction... The fact is that I've got a lot to tell you this week and I'm... Continue Reading

Bush Comes out for Intelligent Design

Posted on August 3, 2005 10:34 AM

In the midst of a global war on terror, it's good to see the President coming out for some of the battles on the home front. WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush reignited debate over evolution by advocating teaching concept of intelligent design in schools. That view promotes the idea that an unseen force is behind the development of humanity. Scientists claim intelligent design has no supporting evidence and is an attempt... Continue Reading

Finger Food

Posted on March 25, 2005 02:20 PM

I love finger food. There's nothing like the simplicity of enjoying cheese sticks and chicken fingers off the platter. But Wendy's has apparantly taken finger food to the next level. SAN JOSE, Calif. Mar 23, 2005 — A woman's meal at a Wendy's restaurant brought a whole new meaning to the term "finger food." The woman bit into a portion of a human finger while eating a bowl of chili Tuesday night at the San... Continue Reading

Zell Miller Hits a Home Run!

Posted on September 2, 2004 12:01 AM

Zell Miller is a Senator from the great state of Georgia. Previously, he was Governor of the state. On Wednesday night, he stood before the delagates of the Republican National Convention, and all of America (and the world) via television, and gave one of the most impassioned speeches I have heard in some time. He clearly made the case for why we MUST re-elect President George W. Bush for a second term of office. Here's... Continue Reading

Dialup Accelerator

Posted on August 23, 2004 12:51 AM

It was just like any other day. I booted up my computer and started to check on my web sites. And as happens from time to time, my sites were not coming up quickly or at all. My first thought is that a server is down. I test another server and see that it is not communicating either. Now I start thinking my T1 to the office is down. So I apply the test to... GameZNFlix.com - Update 4/28/2004

Posted on April 29, 2004 12:00 AM

My investment in GameZNFlix.com is starting to pay off. Trading as GZFX on the OTC bulletin board exchange, this little penny-stock company has got guts. As mentioned in a previous entry, Ben Curtis of "Dude, you're getting a Dell" fame was on CNBC Wednesday afternoon and he talked about the company. He will be featured in three commercials to be broadcast nationally in early May. The stock hit a high of .14 today and is... Continue Reading

Stubbed toe - $30,000

Posted on January 8, 2004 10:28 AM

Another great Walmart story brought to you courtesy of the "whats-in-it-for-me" crowd... A Mt. Pleasant Township couple wants Wal-Mart to pay for foot and toe injuries they claim were caused by canned goods and condiments that tumbled from an overfilled plastic grocery bag. According to a two-count civil lawsuit filed Wednesday in Westmoreland County, Brenda and Ronald Sager contend a plastic bag they brought home from the East Huntingdon Township store last month was deficient... Visiting Family

Posted on November 24, 2003 10:24 PM

Today the four of us hopped on a plane to Illinois, where we are visiting my family in the North Shore suburbs. We'll be here all week. However, my mom is watching the kids Tuesday and Wednesday, so Mary and I are heading downtown to enjoy a couple days and nights in the great city of Chicago. I hope to post movie #14 in my list of Best Movies Ever in the next day or... Continue Reading

Day 31: Almost home!

Posted on November 4, 2003 09:44 PM

A completely uneventful driving day. We traveled from Knoxville, Tennessee to Conway, Arkansas today, covering 550 miles of Interstate 40. Fortunately, the weather was very nice. The mountains helped add to the scenery as well. We arrived in Conway around 7 pm or so, grabbed dinner at Fazolis, and checked into the Best Western. Tomorrow we complete our journey and hope to be home in time for Wednesday night service at church. I can't believe... Continue Reading

Day 29: King's Dominion

Posted on November 2, 2003 06:34 PM

We checked out of the Red Roof Inn around 9:30 or so and drove a few miles to Paramount's King's Dominion Theme Park in Doswell, Virginia. I purchased tickets online last night to save a few bucks. We checked Socrates into the kennel at the park and went on our way. Our first stop was the Spongebob Squarepants 3-D attraction. It was a standard theater/simulator ride with 3-D effects. The ride was very jerky, but... Continue Reading
