Joel's Greatest Hits

Posted on June 19, 2008 12:47 AM

Have you ever wondered what people did BEFORE they become Internet marketers? It's pretty cool to see that the greatest success stories are people just like you and me. I will tell you this about me. I used to be a DJ. Yup, I worked in the nightclubs to begin with, but then the entrepreneur in me discovered that there was more money to be made in playing music at private events. So I started... New Software Guarantees 100% Email Deliverability!

Posted on April 1, 2008 04:01 AM

Now this is incredible. And when I say incredible, I mean INCREDIBLE! Like most marketers, I have not been able to find an email solution that guarantees my newsletter will arrive in the inboxes of my customers. Even the best autoresponder service has problems getting my emails through to AOL.com, Yahoo.com and hotmail.com. That's why I am doing backflips over Instant Whitelist! Continue Reading

Jason Calacanis Insults Affiliate Summit Attendees, Says They Pollute The Internet

Posted on February 25, 2008 05:54 PM

I've been wanting to meet Jason Calacanis face-to-face for some time. For those that don't know, Jason is the co-creator of Weblogs, Inc., which was sold to AOL for $25 million. I'm at Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas where Jason Calacanis delivered the keynote address this morning. I really didn't know anything about Jason as a person, so I was looking forward to an insightful talk with fresh ideas. Wow, was I in for a... Continue Reading

How to Use Facebook

Posted on February 18, 2008 10:13 AM

I am finding Facebook to be a great tool for networking and connecting with people. Since I started using last fall, I have connected with old friends, family members, new associates and some pretty big names. With Facebook, you can make contact with people who might otherwise be very difficult to reach. I've added over 1000 friends, started a handful of groups and have discovered how to post items so others can see what I... Continue Reading

Enough is Enough

Posted on June 5, 2007 01:08 AM

I can't take it any longer. I've seen a few trends taking place in Internet marketing lately, and I don't think they are right. It's time to take off the gloves because I've got something to say. I'm throwing caution to the wind because I think someone has got to stand up and speak the truth. If I take heat for it, so be it. Here goes... Continue Reading

Big Mistakes

Posted on December 8, 2006 08:03 AM

I'll be the first to admit that I have made some mistakes in my life. Hey, I'm human and I don't expect to always get it right. It was a mistake for me to tell people about Mike Filsaime's report, "The Death of Internet Marketing" before it was actually time to do so. Ooops. My bad. Sorry, Mike. It was a mistake to accidently use another marketer's trademarked name in reference to a different marketer's... Continue Reading

Tactics or Strategies?

Posted on October 6, 2006 12:25 AM

Hardly a week goes by that you don't hear about the newest/latest/greatest/world's-best-thing-since-sliced-bread ebook, software or member site. I confess, I do like to share quality products and services with my readers, but there are many that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Why not? Because they aren't in your best interests. Yes, there is money to be made in selling "stuff". And while I have no problem with earning commissions, my reputation is... Continue Reading

Junk Faxes Make Me Crazy

Posted on February 5, 2006 11:32 PM

There's only one thing I hate worse than email spam. It is junk fax spam. I got a fax machine so that I could send and receive important documents for my business. I use it for this purpose maybe once each week. But my fax machine is active far more frequently due to fax spam. I HATE junk faxes! So I decided to do something about it. Continue Reading

Spyware is EVIL

Posted on November 10, 2004 02:37 AM

Over the past few months, I have helped several family members, friends and associates remove spyware from their computers. Often, people don't even realize they are infected with this insidious stuff. All they know is that their computers are running slower and those blasted pop up ads just keep coming. My son didn't know any better when he clicked on a popup ad for "free smilies". He meant well, but that one click managed to... Continue Reading

Junk Fax Madness

Posted on October 12, 2004 10:49 PM

Do you have a fax machine? If so, has your number been released to the spammers of the fax world? Once it has, your fax machine will never be the same. Junk Fax has cluttered my fax machine for nearly two years. I get several junk faxes a week, promoting the latest penny stock, travel club or health insurance scheme. I have been throwing away the faxes as the removal numbers at the bottom seem... Continue Reading

Fred Langa is the MAN!

Posted on December 9, 2003 03:25 PM

Fred Langa is a staple on the web. The guy has been writing technology articles since dirt was new... well, for a long time anyhow. In fact, he used to write for the now-defunct NetGuide Magazine and featured WorldVillage.com as one of the web's best Family friendly site. Fred's mailing list, the Langa List, is a weekly digest featuring useful info and links for a general audience (that's you!). I highly recommend signing up to... Continue Reading

Spam spam spam spam

Posted on December 4, 2003 12:59 AM

Argh! (You ever notice just how many of my posts start with that word?) I am SO sick of SPAM! This Spam, not this Spam. My old email account now receives over 1000 unsolicited emails every day. I have been using my new account for only two months and it is now receiving over 100 spam emails each day. So, to sum up... ARGH! I have been setting up filters and server-side solutions. But most... Continue Reading
