I've been nominated to run for President

Posted on July 2, 2008 12:05 AM

Life is a funny thing. Sometimes the most unexpected things take place, and often at the strangest moments! Somehow my name has gotten around and... well, someone thought I should be nominated to run for President! When you look at the two non-choices we have in this contest, I guess it's not surprising. But I didn't even know this was happening! Here's the cool thing... Continue Reading

The View from Here

Posted on April 6, 2008 02:42 PM

Ah... Kauai. We were here two years ago and had a great time. I think we did all the touristy stuff that week. Helicopter ride. Driving around both coasts... etc. Last year we went to Maui, and although beautiful, it doesn't match Kauai for beauty. Maui was also way overpriced and I can't see going there again just for a vacation. Anyhow, I don't think I've ever been in such need of a vacation and... Continue Reading

You Can't Buy This

Posted on June 30, 2007 12:00 AM

Aloha! As you know, I am on vacation in Maui. As I write this, I am watching the sun rise behind the mountains, listening to the waves crash and enjoying the small birds that are landing on my balcony railing. Yes, it is just another day in tropical paradise. And yet, I am compelled to write... to share what is on my mind. Because with all the success I have enjoyed, I am reminded that... Continue Reading

Hawaii Day 1 - Maui is Burning

Posted on June 28, 2007 10:16 AM

We arrived on Maui on Tuesday afternoon, snagged our rental car and made our way to the hotel. We're staying on the west side of the island in the Ka'anapali area. It's absolutely gorgeous here. From my fifth floor balcony I can see the ocean, the mountains, palm trees, sandy beaches and a beautiful landscape. It's 6 am Hawaii time as I blog this (my body says it is 10 am MST) and I've enjoyed... Continue Reading

Day 12: Plymouth Rock

Posted on October 16, 2003 10:11 PM

The room at the Red Roof is great, but we have the world's worst Internet connection. It doesn't matter if I use AOL or MSN, and it doesn't matter which number I dial. The phone lines here STINK! The absolute worst I can ever imagine. Ok, done ranting. Today we went to Plymouth, the site where the pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620. It was a one hour drive through Boston and into Cape... Continue Reading

Buy a taco and vote!

Posted on August 21, 2003 01:11 PM

Just when you think the wackiness in California can't get any wackier, it does. Here's the deal. Visit a California area Taco Bell and place your vote for California governor through your choice of menu items! That's right. A crunchy beef taco is a vote for Ahnold. A soft chicken taco is a vote for Gray "Gross" Davis and a grilled stuft burrito is a vote for any of the other hundred plus candidates... Continue Reading

Finding Nemo

Posted on June 7, 2003 03:04 PM

While on vacation in Enid, OK, we took the kids to see Finding Nemo. It may just be the BEST Pixar animated feature to date! As they have done with several recent flicks, Pixar first taunted us with a short film. Knick Knack was their very first computer animated short film. This story of a snowman in a snow globe pining for the disproportionate blond from Miami had me in stitches for several minutes. 'Nuff... Continue Reading
