A Trip to the Blue Mountains

Posted on June 9, 2008 01:35 PM

We hopped a tour bus to the Blue Mountains on Monday. It was the Queen's Birthday, so the country was on holiday and the traffic was light. It was actually a small passenger van and there was only nine of us along with the driver. He was a very knowledgable and entertaining native who made the trip better by his presence. We stopped at a Wildlife Park, learned to toss a boomarang, toured the Blue... Continue Reading

You're Not Giving Up Now, Are You?

Posted on May 21, 2007 12:03 AM

One of the things that I love most about attending seminars is hearing people's stories. Everyone has their own reason for wanting to set up an online business. For some, it's the pull of being their own boss and working on their own terms. For others, it's the push of a job they can't bear and a lifestyle they want to change. For a few people though, it's not much of a choice. They might... Continue Reading

Saturday morning ramblings. I know, it might be Saturday afternoon or Sunday... or even Monday, when you receive this. Nevertheless, it's Saturday morning as a write. So there. :-P Here come the ramblings, kind of a stew from me to you :-) Continue Reading

Clutter

Posted on February 9, 2007 11:01 AM

Clutter. Our lives are full of it. And to be honest, I've never experienced more clutter in my life than right now. As I type this, movers are hauling my "stuff" into my new home in Colorado... ... and I can't believe how much stuff there is. I feel like I am being overtaken by boxes and furniture. And just when you think they've brought it all in, there is more. Clutter. Continue Reading

And this site which I launched just this past Monday has now earned over $37,000 to date! Everyone wants to know how I did it and where they could get a copy of the software. It's one of those days. My eyes are watery. My nose is stuffy. My body is achy. And I don't want to do anything. The common cold strikes once again. Continue Reading

I've been in a Las Vegas this week, participating in Affiliate Summit, a conference for Internet merchants and their affiliates. I dragged a couple friends along with me and we're having a great time. Monday night we went to see Blue Man Group at the Luxor Hotel (the big pyramid...) What a fun evening! Continue Reading

I Love Howard Dean

Posted on June 8, 2005 01:05 PM

I do. I love Howard Dean. Yes, THE Howard Dean, former Vermont Governor. Left-wing extremist. Defeated by John Kerry in 2004 Democratic Presidential Primaries. (how does one lose to John Kerry???) And now, Chairman of the Democratic National Convention. I love Howad Dean. Why? Because he guarantees that Democrats will continue losing major elections. Check out what this bozo said yesterday. "You know, the Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people. They're... Continue Reading

Just Peachy

Posted on May 5, 2005 03:02 PM

I have been in Atlanta, Georgia since Monday, attending an Internet conference. On Monday, I played golf with some of the guys, if you can call it "playing golf". I really stink at the game, but I had fun. The rest of the week I've been attending workshops and hanging out with some very cool and interesting people. Tomorrow I head back home. Anyhow, today is my birthday and I have been receiving phone calls... Continue Reading

Another one of THOSE days

Posted on February 14, 2005 02:35 PM

You know the kind I am talking about. The wife is sick, so I am up early to take them to school. The server is crashing, so I am on the phone with my webmasters attempting to resolve it. The call comes from school. My son may have chipped his tooth. He can't eat anything solid, so I pick him up and buy him a bowl of soup and take him to the dentist. Overwhelmed... Continue Reading

When I See Jesus...

Posted on January 12, 2005 03:36 PM

A Presbyterian minister collapsed and died in mid-sentence of a sermon after saying "And when I go to heaven ...," his colleague said Monday. The Rev. Jack Arnold, 69, was nearing the end of his sermon Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church in this Orlando suburb when he grabbed the podium before falling to the floor, said the Rev. Michael S. Beates, associate pastor at Covenant Presbyterian. Before collapsing, Arnold quoted the 18th century Bible scholar... Continue Reading

Left Coast Insanity

Posted on November 25, 2004 12:07 AM

It is political correctness and anti-God behavior gone nuts. From the Reuters news wire... LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A California teacher has been barred by his school from giving students documents from American history that refer to God -- including the Declaration of Independence. Steven Williams, a fifth-grade teacher at Stevens Creek School in the San Francisco Bay area suburb of Cupertino, sued for discrimination on Monday, claiming he had been singled out for censorship... Democrat Snake Oil, Anyone?

Posted on October 15, 2004 06:08 PM

Charles Krauthammer, writing for the Jewish World Review, has come out with an article that precisely nails down the problem with John Kerry and John Edwards. Highlights from Krauthammer's article... This is John Edwards on Monday at a rally in Newton, Iowa: "If we do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve are going to walk, get up... Swift Boat Veterans slamdunk Kerry

Posted on October 13, 2004 11:38 PM

The Swift Boat Vets have two new advertisements which are due to run during Monday Night Football on October 18th. They are incredibly persuasive and might even break through the hard shell of some Kerry diehards. At the very least, they will push some more of those "undecideds" to the Bush column. Well done SwiftVets. Thank you for having the courage to stand up and call Kerry on the carpet. And thank you for your... Continue Reading

The Passion - Watch out, here comes Jesus

Posted on February 10, 2004 11:02 AM

In what may be a shocker to Hollywood, but I have predicted all along, Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ is set to be a blockbuster. Here's the latest story from Variety magazine... 'Passion' poised for heavenly B.O. (Variety) The movie that couldn't find a distributor a year ago is now poised to become this year's first surprise hit. Though not a single television ad has aired for "The Passion of the Christ" two weeks... Continue Reading

First thing ya know, Old Jed's a millionaire...

Posted on February 7, 2004 12:12 AM

All she wanted was some time alone in the reading room. Instead, Leila LeTourneau of Longview, Texas returned from work late Monday to find crude oil covering her home’s floors and spilling from the toilets, bathtub and sinks. Experts have told her the oil kind of “burped up.” This is a hoot! It's a good thing she wasn't actually "doing her business" when the well sprung! Read the entire story here Continue Reading

Day 9: The Hills are Alive

Posted on October 13, 2003 09:03 PM

We left the Best Western in Niagara Falls this morning and I had a brief run-in with the general manager. When I looked at my itemized bill, I noticed that I was being charged $5.00 for each local call I made. He explained that local calls are free, but any call over 30 minutes was subject to a $5.00 charge and that this information was clearly printed in the hotel information. Well, I had called... Day 8: Over a Barrel

Posted on October 12, 2003 09:15 PM

Finding a church to worship at while out of town is always a challenge. You just never know what you are going to get. As it turned out, I opened the yellow pages, placed a call to a church, asked a couple questions and decided that I had found a place. Redeemer Bible Church is a medium-sized church about five miles from the falls, just off the highway. The church placesa high emphasis on music... Continue Reading

Red River, Day 7

Posted on July 26, 2003 04:34 PM

Our last day and we've really got nothing left that we want to do. We considered going to Colorado to see the sand dunes near Alamosa, but it was over 1.5 hours away and it was going to be hot. So we opted to have lunch in town and play it by ear. But first, we stopped at the Red River Candy Mountain Fudge shop. As you may recall from yesterday's entry, the manager asked... Weight update

Posted on May 29, 2003 09:21 AM

Perhaps I should change the category title to "the not-so-incredible, rather-ordinary, fat and lazy mayor". That's the kind of week it has been. With the server problems I've been experiencing, I have not had the time nor the drive to exercise. On top of that, I am enjoying large portions of tasty food. So, I'll probably weigh next Monday and we'll see how much damage I have done. I thought I'd make myself accountable by... Continue Reading

Monday morning

Posted on May 12, 2003 09:11 AM

And so much to do... I just got off the treadmill. It's my goal to dump 20 pounds over the next 8 weeks. I guess I am keeping myself accountable by announcing that here. How will I do it? No special diet. No special pills. It's going to take self-discipline. Basically, eat less and exercise more. And it will take a little divine intervention as well, because I've got a sweet tooth as big as... Continue Reading
