When I was a child in the Chicago suburbs, I recall one summer that our city was completely overrun by cicadas, those noisy flying insects that swarm by the thousands and leave their shell behind when they are finished with them. Woman swallows fork trying to retrieve cockroach An Israeli woman has swallowed a fork while trying to retrieve a cockroach from her throat. The insect reportedly jumped into her mouth as she was cleaning her home in a village in northern Israel.
