Hawaii Day 1 - Maui is Burning

Posted on June 28, 2007 10:16 AM

We arrived on Maui on Tuesday afternoon, snagged our rental car and made our way to the hotel. We're staying on the west side of the island in the Ka'anapali area. It's absolutely gorgeous here. From my fifth floor balcony I can see the ocean, the mountains, palm trees, sandy beaches and a beautiful landscape. It's 6 am Hawaii time as I blog this (my body says it is 10 am MST) and I've enjoyed... Continue Reading

Arbonne Letters

Posted on June 15, 2006 09:21 PM

Who would have thought that my post about Arbonne would have generated so much discussion? Admittedly, it does get heated from time to time. But I have allowed the post to be a forum for free speech as long as people keep it clean and don't abuse each other. If you try to read it, expect to spend at least an hour... it just keeps going and going... A few months ago, I put up... Continue Reading

Your Brush with Greatness

Posted on December 13, 2004 05:13 PM

I've been developing a new site with a cool gimmick. It's called DropThatName.com. Sounds kind of weird, huh? It's not like "hey my name is Rudolpho and I don't like it so I am going to drop it". Nope. Nothing like that. Drop That Name! is a place where anyone can brag about their "brush with greatness". Who doesn't like to tell tall tales of their encounter with politicians, movie stars, rock stars, authors and... Continue Reading

Lego Mayor

Posted on December 9, 2004 12:00 AM

Someone on Deal of Day introduced me to an amusing online toy today. It is called The Mini Mizer, where you can picture yourself as a Lego character. Created by Chris Doyle of ReasonablyClever.com, this little gadget allows you to select from different heads, bodies, limbs and more to customize a Lego character that looks like whatever you want. Here is me, with the addition of an airbrushed goatee. Fun stuff, huh? To create your... Continue Reading

Day 3: Land of Lincoln

Posted on October 7, 2003 10:32 PM

We left Jacksonville, MO around 11 am and set course for Beardstown, IL, made famous by the Beardstown Ladies Investment Club. Our visit had nothing to do with investing. We visited friends, Carla and Rick Simmert. Carla is a blessing as she is the person God had in place to take over Mary's web site, SafeHaven, when Mary no longer had the time to give it the attention it needed. We spent a couple hours... Brush with greatness!

Posted on September 6, 2003 11:55 AM

I've bumped heads with politicians and celebrities. But my most recent encounter blows all those away. How many of you can say you met these two? That's right. You are seeing THE R2-D2 and C3PO, not just any droids. Mary thinks I need therapy... hehe... Continue Reading

Presidential Advisor

Posted on July 30, 2003 12:55 PM

Yes, it's true. I have been a Presidential Advisor. At least that's what Mary tells me. About 10 years ago, I was shopping at Best Buy on Central Expressway in Dallas. It was the holiday season, so the store was packed with people. I meandered my way into the software aisle, and there HE was. Who, you ask? None other than then-Governor-elect George W. Bush! He has recently won the election for the Gov seat... Continue Reading
