New FTC Regulations Begin December 1st

Posted on November 5, 2009 09:13 PM

The Internet has grown at an incredible rate. Online business is big business. And wherever there is big business there are bound to be scam artists. Due to the sheer number of people being deceived by unscrupulous marketers (though I hate to even call them marketers), the Federal Trade Commission has seen fit to intervene with a new set of regulations due to go into effect on December 1st, 2009. If you do ANY kind... Continue Reading

Twitter Celebrities Come Together for Live 12-Hour Tweet-a-Thon

Posted on February 9, 2009 08:17 PM

When John Wiley & Sons asked me to write the definitive guide on using Twitter for business, I knew we would have a best-seller on our hands. The pre-orders on the book are strong and the buzz is spreading without me doing any real promotion. So I've decided to do something very special to celebrate the launch of Twitter Power. On Thursday, February 19th, I will be conducting the world's first live broadcast Tweet-a-thon! The... Continue Reading

Content Composer

Posted on March 29, 2007 01:03 AM

I recently received an email from a reader. May I share it with you? "Joel, I appreciate your newsletters and great tips. Out of all the so-called gurus, I feel like you deliver more real value in your email than anyone else. But I am feeling very confused about all the different ways you discuss to make money. You tell us about a new software tool that is the supposed answer to our problems, but... Continue Reading

Important. Urgent. Critical. Essential. Crucial. There are so many words I can use to describe how imperative it is that you read today's email, and listen to what I have to say... REALLY listen, because this comes from the heart. Continue Reading

Heart Kids Blogathon

Posted on September 9, 2006 06:47 AM

My friend Dr.Mani is a heart surgeon who innovatively uses online marketing to help kids born with heart defects. On Saturday Sep.9th, in a very special event called the Heart Kids Blogathon, he is blogging non-stop for 24 hours to raise funds for the 'heart kids'. The fundraiser is off with a bang, with over $3,700 donated already. Every $2,500 raised means an additional operation can be funded - so please try and help, in... Continue Reading

Big Seminar Afterglow

Posted on November 8, 2005 03:01 PM

I just got back from one of the the most educational and inspiring seminars of my entire life. My friend, Jeff Walker, suggested that I go to Armand Morin's Big Seminar in Los Angeles. On his advice, I registered just a couple weeks ago. It cost $2000, but I trust Jeff and took his advice. Words cannot describe the weekend I just experienced. Continue Reading

Federal Judge blows it again

Posted on September 14, 2005 06:01 PM

Here we go again. A federal judge in California (9th Circuit Court of Appeals) has ruled that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because it includes the words "Under God". This highlights the reason that it is critical for Bush's appointee, Judge John Roberts, to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. We need strict constitutionalists sitting on the bench, and not activists judges who rewrite the law in order to promote their own agenda. Roberts... Continue Reading

I Am the GMail King

Posted on April 9, 2005 12:18 AM

Or one would think I had an endless supply of GMail accounts! On February 9th, I announced that I had SIX (6) free GMail invites to give away. All six were given away fairly quickly. Yet to this very day, people are STILL leaving comments on my blog saying, "I want a Gmail account. Please reply." Hello? Anyone home? Bueller? I had six. Six. SIX! Stop asking! Well, now I have 50 more to give... Continue Reading

Voices of Iraq

Posted on October 25, 2004 03:41 PM

What would happen if you took 150 digital video camcorders to Iraq, handed them out to the people, and allowed them to film whatever they want? You get a film titled Voices of Iraq, an independent film hitting theatres October 29th. The filmmakers wanted to let the Iraqi people create the content for a documentary that would allow people to see what life is really like for those living in this war-torn nation. The producers... Oprah hands over the keys

Posted on September 13, 2004 12:28 PM

I've never been a huge Oprah Winfrey fan. I've probably watched three entire shows my whole life. But I do appreciate the positive spin she has taken her show these past years. Instead of doing the Jerry Springer "dregs of society" type shows, she has sought to elevate her show by featuring encouraging and inspiring stories. From time to time, she has been known to provide her entire audience with a year's supply of dogfood... Continue Reading
