Our first full day in Sydney was mostly overcast, but we enjoyed time at the Sydney Aquarium and the Wildlife World exhibit on Darling Harbour. Enjoy this video compilation of our day.
After our time at Darling Harbour, we took the train to the Sydney Olympic Park where Chris Howard is holding his Ultimate Wealth Symposium.
I got to meet Chris, his event coordinator Pauline, and several other folks. Loral Langemeier was there and we had a chance to briefly visit as well.
The ride to the park was uneventful and took us through less appealing portions of outer Sydney. So I think we'll probably avoid the train for future excursions.
I'm looking forward to speaking at Chris' event on Sunday.

Hi Joel,
Welcome to Aus. you were eating and buying things like water in possibly the most expensive places in Australia, you should get a local as a guide.
and the Hyate Hotel is also one of most expensive, it is good thing you can afford it.
Also the money converts the other way, $2.70 AU is about $2.60 US at the moment.
Enjoy your visit, Doug

Joel, You should eat the beets, it'll put some color back in your cheeks from the long Colorado winter.
Have fun down under.

Joel,
Your undisclosed hotel looks a lot like the Shangri-La judging by the position. Oh, and the fact that Cafe Mix is the Shangri-La's restaurant sort of blew your cover. Haha. Ah well.
As one of the others said, you were buying food in tourist areas which always means you will be paying more than usual. For things like water, etc you are much better off going to a supermarket.
One more tip Joel, you can actually get a ferry over to Homebush Bay ferry wharf and then a bus to the stadium - probably a more interesting trip than the train ride.
Hope your enjoying your stay!
If you can, try and book a dinner at Cafe Sydney. It's a really nice restraunt in Circular Quay that looks out over the Harbour and has great food as well. Just a thought!

Interesting video, Joel. I've been to Sydney but didn't know you can touch the koala bears. Need to do that next time. :)

Australia is a wonderful place. The outback is magnificent and untamed. But still one of my favorite places for big time wild life is Africa. Lions, elephant and crocodiles.
Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Great video clips, Joel. Loved the animals, your great Aussie accent impression, and the talking alligator toy bit--LoL.
Oh and thanks for the warning on the Aussie Beef Burgers...and those rank hamburgers in France. :-)

Hi Joel,
Glad to see you made it to Sydney. Pity about the rainy weather but it's badly needed.
Looking for a dingo? You can see them 'up close' roaming freely on World Heritage Listed Fraser Island along with wildlife, native birds, rainforests, creeks, lakes...and of course a spot of fishing.
Fraser Island (184000 hectares)stretches over 123 kilometres along the southern coast of Queensland.
Enjoy your stay in Australia!

Hi Joel,
If we had known you were to speak in Sydney we'd have made a trip from Adelaide.
We love Sydney but winter is not the time to see it at its best.
Hope you have an enjoyable time in our country.

Joel,
When are you going to get yourself some transition lenses mate?! You need to start splurging now!
As for Dingos, I'd say how about a Pilsener with some Sheila on the Gold Coast?! Great place to be this time of the year.
Thanks for sharing the video, brings back fond memories.

Joel, stop your bitching about how expensive it is in Australia. Mount Franklin is expensive because your are in tourst traffic areas. Got to the suppermarket and you will probably get 2 for 1.
The USA is no diffeent to USA>
Anyway, where is the abundance way of thinking??? Your are a NY best time selling authour arent you. You should be rolling in with the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
