Shopzilla Secrets

Posted on April 13, 2008 11:04 PM by Joel Comm

Shopzilla is one of the largest online shopping sites. You've probably used them before for their price comparison tool.

Recently, Shopzilla has been beta-testing a contextual ad program that would allow site publishers to place Shopzilla ads on their pages and get paid every time someone clicked on an ad, in the same vein as AdSense.

I'm impressed with their program and I decided to research them further.

My research led me to write a special report called Shopzilla Secrets, and I would like to offer it to you for free!

Finding new ways to monetize your web site is always a good idea, so I think you'll enjoy testing Shopzilla's program.

But here's some ever better news.

I have negotiated a special sign-up bonus with Shopzilla for all new publishers who are accepted into the program.

When you click the link below and sign up to be a Shopzilla publisher, they will instantly credit your account with $25!

Now THAT'S a great deal. :-)

Click here to sign up and claim your $25!

I hope you enjoy the book. Please be sure to leave me your feedback.

This sounds like the right thing to do if it fits in your sphear. I really do believe we need to diversify and not just rely on google to monetize.

Google sort of freightens me because of the power they have and their willingness to weild it. I mean, I love google and have adsense on my sites, and I follow the rules, but they scare me too.

I actually have this cartoon in my head with google pushing this great big red button and laughing a villinious laugh while, ... me and my sites, all swirling down the drain.

    Joel,

Thanks for this. I'll definitely be signing up -- I have several domains that need a shopping publisher account.

Do you know of a publisher account/affiliate program that will let me display local search listings, like for a local dog trainer? I've been trying to use Super Pages but their code is very buggy and I just can't get it to work. Even contacted them by email and also spoke to someone on the phone and it's just bad. So, trying to find another program but not having any luck. You seem to know alot of these, so hoping you have an idea

    Hi, Mr Joel

Thanks for the new guide: Shopzilla Secrets.

I'm very keen to implement this into my site,

    But, I've some reservations.

Can I put Shopzilla in my site that also have the adsense code?

Will I violate Adsense TOS by putting shopzilla on the same page.

Kindly advice, because I do not find explanation on this matter in your guide.

    Thanks

    Henry

  5. David Weinrot Says:

Henry, the Shopzilla Publisher Program is compliant with the AdSense TOS. Our program is not a contextual ad program in the same way that AdSense is insofar as publishers select the keywords (or shopping categories) that are used to generate the ads. Our program does not "sniff the content" of your page to determine what ad to serve thereby making it compliant with AdSense.

Shopzilla maintains a very open posture with respect to integrating our content on your sites and encourage publishers to evaluate it along with the many other syndicated ad programs available across the web.

    Thank you for your interest.

    Any advice?

  7. M. R. Lawrence Says:

    Hi Joel,

I signed up with Shopzilla today, filled in the necessary payment info under 'Account', placed a banner ad on http://Midday.ws but could find no record or mention of the $25.00 sign-up bonus. I went to your Shopzilla Report page at http://www.ShopzillaSecrets.com and used the Shopzilla sign-up bonus link there.

Is the bonus a separate mail payment that mysteriously appears in the mailbox?

  8. Wiebs Says:

Shopzilla won't let me in. I guess they think my blog is an adult bondage site or something.
Of course, maybe their site is being overwhelmed by requests, who knows?

  9. Paul Says:

Where can we get info on the beta-testing contextual ad program?

I've been an affiliate with them for quite a while and hadn't heard about that yet. I'd love to see if they have one.

It'd be great if they did a Kontera kinda thing, too.

    Thanks for any help!
