Sharing the Secret

Today's entry has nothing to do with Internet marketing, making money online, AdSense or anything else of this nature.

It is of far greater importance and consequence.

Several weeks ago, a church that we had visited had announced an upcoming series called "My Secret".

Acknowledging that people within the church have just as many problems as people outside the church, the point of the series is to help people see that they are not alone in their distress. And they suggest that the first step towards breaking free of addictions and other destructive behavior is to find an outlet to confess it, even if anonymously.

That's what MySecret.tv is all about.

A ministry of LifeChurch.tv, this site allows people to anonymously confess their secret in any number of areas, including addiction, eating disorders, stealing, pornography, adultry, regret, shame, abuse, gambling, self-harm, abortion and others.

Taking a note from the popular Post Secret, which allows people to artistically confess their secret by sending in anonymous postcards, MySecret.tv is quickly filling up with stories of people who are hurting on the inside.

And as we read the stories, we come to realize that we are indeed surrounded by pain. Many people are hurting, and the power of the pain is perpetuated by keeping it a secret.

If you are keeping a secret that has a grip on you, may you find encouragement at this site, realizing that you are not alone, and that there is hope for you.

At the very least, reading these stories should make us all more sensitive to the needs of others around us.
