Planning Your Work and Working Your Plan

Posted on March 15, 2007 11:03 AM by Joel Comm

Vince Lombardi once said, "A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done."

Take inventory of yourself...

Are you where you want to be?

If not, why not?

Tommy Lasorda once said, "The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination."

The truth is, most people give up WAY to easily.

Why?

Because there is WORK involved. Uh oh... did I just say a four-letter word?! ;-)

The bottom line is that if you want something in life, you have to decide that you are going to do whatever it takes to get it (provided that your actions are legal!)

And yes, it is going to be work.

But that doesn't mean you have to hate it!

In fact, I LOVE my work!

I daresay that each of us are wired in a way that if we are doing what we were designed to do, we will each love our own work.

Tom Landry once said, "Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan."

What Coach Landry was saying is that the key component is that you take ACTION.

Good intentions, warm fuzzy thoughts and attempting to "will" good things to come your way will get you absolutely nothing.

Planning your work and working your plan is the key to success.

Planning your work... working your plan.

It's a simple formula. But most people miss it.

And it's easy to see why. There are so many confusing messages out there.

That's why we need a roadmap. A plan of action.

It's why we need sometimes need a little help designing that roadmap and planning our course of action.

And it's why it is a good thing that we have coaches like Lombardi, Lasorda and Landry...

... People who have gone before and know the road we walk

... People who are willing to share themselves for our greater good

... People who inspire and bring out the best in us

Yes, we all need people like that.

And while running an Internet business is not physical like playing a competitive sport, it is just as challenging.

In order to survive and thrive, you need a plan of action.

You need a road map.

Today, Thursday March 15th at 3 pm EST, you have an opportunity to take action and acquire your road map to the kind of success you have dreamed of.

If you have evaluated your life and realize that you are missing a key ingredient to take your business where you really want it to go, it is time for you to take action and decide that you are ready to take the next step.

Remember, the greatest journey begins with that very first step.

There's an old joke that goes, "How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?"

The answer? "One... but the light bulb has to WANT to change."

Do you want to change?

Your first step is to click the link below...

The Road Map to Success

Only a small percentage of people who read this message will actually take action, plan their work, work their plan... and succeed.

In fact, I'd venture to say that only 5% of those who read this message will actually commit to the plan of success. It's the top 5% who move the world and make a difference.

Are you in that number?

I hope so. :-)

"Coaching," "mentoring," "building wealth," those are words that set off alarm bells in my head. There are just far too many "mentors" out there who "promise" us "wealth" and "untold riches" who never really give any sound advice. Work? Hard work? Sure, I believe in that and am willing to put in the necessary hours, days, weeks, months, etc. But give my money to someone who makes promises without telling me more about the subject matter? No way. I'm here to enrich myself right now, not others.

Shana... if you'll go read the page you'll find out what you need to know. It's all there in black and white.

  3. Shana Says:

Well, Joel, now it says it's "sold out," which to me is yet another marketing ploy to make it look very successful and sought after. I do enjoy reading your blogs and I'm sorry to sound cynical, but there's just too much of this kind of thing (mentoring) going on now and most of it isn't worth the time it takes to read it. Perhaps this one is good, I don't know and I'm the first to admit that I don't know. My point is that the public is becoming very suspect of people who want money and make promises. Our first reaction is: "Oh, just another scam!" Not that this is, of course, but that's the reaction I hear from most people.

    Hi Shana:

I just bought Joel Comm's PRINTED book on Adsense. (Adsense code). The information is very helpful and while some of it might be 'available' for free on the net, it's not going to be packaged in the easier format that benefits me - I could research for hours if I wanted to, but I wanted to read about Adsense based on someone's success and experience.

You could spend a zillion hours trying to research. Plus, there are some 'bad mentors' out there. Then there are 'experts' in their specific niche of the Internet. Focus on one, act on it, and with focused action, you can make something of it.

Whining about it on Joel's blog isn't going to get you anywhere.

  5. Joel Says:

Shana. Sold out means sold out. He filled all seats.

    Joel

  6. Shana Says:

Well, Al, first of all, I'm not whining. I don't whine. It's just not in my nature. Please be polite. That's Rule One for success on the Internet. I have several very successful Internet businesses right now and no reason to whine even it were in my nature.

I'm giving Joel feedback and I think he appreciates that, whether it's positive or negative. I know I appreciate positive or negative feedback on my sites as long as the people commenting are polite. Polite disagreement is often more constructive than praise.

Second, I've purchased Joel's printed book, "The AdSense Code," too. How do you think I found this site?

I found some very helpful things in the book and got a good education on AdSense with some very good tips. I liked the book and would recommend it to others. I like Joel's site and I find his blogs very interesting, but being 100% positive on absolutely everything isn't going to get anyone anywhere.

Joel, if it's "sold out," then I think the person offering the mentoring should at least explain a bit more of what he's doing rather than leaving it up to the imagination of the reader. The bad mentors out there, and there are so many of them, are making the good ones work at least five times as hard to gain the trust of the public. I just know I would require more information before giving this person any money, although, as I said, he may be excellent. I just know there's no "fast and easy" road to Internet riches. It takes a lot of work, something you've pointed out yourself in you book, "The AdSense Code," which I liked very much.
