On the road again

It is late on Saturday evening and we are preparing for a sem-spontaneous trip to Red River, New Mexico. It has been SO darned hot in Oklahoma City (it hit 109 degrees today!) that we need a break from it. So we'll be leaving first thing in the morning and will return next Sunday. It is approximately 8.5 hours driving time. Figure in 1.5 hours for rest stops, food, and walking the dog, should put us at our destination around 7-8 pm. Of course, we get an hour heading that way, so it will be earlier.

We'll be staying at the Sportsman's Lodge all seven nights and are looking forward to a restful time together as a family. Socrates is very excited about the trip. He has been following us around as we pack our bags, tail wagging with anticipation!

I hope to document the trip on this site day by day if my internet connection will allow it. See you in New Mexico!
