Liberal Radio Network BOMBS

Posted on April 14, 2004 03:01 PM by Joel Comm

It's fun to be right. It really is.

Last month, I predicted the early demise of Air America, the liberal radio network featuring the very unfunny Al Franken.

This story appeared on Drudge Report today.

After just two weeks on the air, Air America Radio, the fledgling liberal talk-radio network featuring Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo, appears to have encountered serious cash-flow problems.

The CHICAGO TRIBUNE is developing a story, insiders tell DRUDGE, on how the network was pulled off the air this morning in Chicago and Los Angeles, the network's second- and third-largest markets, because, the owner of both stations said, the network bounced a check and owes him more than $1 million! A charge the network strongly denies...

Is ANYONE listening to this network? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

As an aside, do a search for waffles at Yahoo! Look at the #1 result. Heehee...

    So sorry I read this...
I'm discovering the world of blogs (late start, I know) and to start by this page was, well, an early wake-up call: There has to be a lot of blogs about nothing, or like this one, poor auto-satisfaction. Mayor of what?

If I had the chance to speak to Al Franken, I'd simply ask him the following: "Hey Al, did you honestly think that many people were going to tune in to listen to YOUR voice for three hours a day? Your face may be suitable for radio, but tragically, your voice is not".

I'd rather listen to my faucet drip all night long.

Welcome to the world of blogging, Richard! It's a vaste wasteland of personal opinion. Feel free to start your own.

Joel, you're an idiot; Al Franken is both a genius and a god-send.
