I watched the President last night and was inspired. It is so refreshing to have a man in the White House who is "real". I know, I know. The Dems will scream about how "stupid" I am for believing the "lies" of the Bush administration. Save your breath. Your comments will be deleted.
After surviving eight years of the worst Presidency to ever curse the White House, I can spot a liar and a con artist a mile away. I am convinced that Bush means what he says and says what he means. I believe he cares for our country and cares about keeping us safe. He is an honorable man and I am proud to have him as my President.
While the first part of his speech was almost like a State of the Union address, the second portion was inspiring. It was full of themes revealing that which makes America great. We are the greatest nation in the world, and we are a beacon to those who do not share in our liberty. The speech was reminiscent of Ronald Reagan.
Some of the highlights...
In response to the lie that the world is not behind us on the war on terrorism,
Again, my opponent takes a different approach. In the midst of war, he has called America's allies, quote, a "coalition of the coerced and the bribed." That would be nations like Great Britain, Poland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, El Salvador, Australia, and others -- allies that deserve the respect of all Americans, not the scorn of a politician. I respect every soldier, from every country, who serves beside us in the hard work of history. America is grateful, and America will not forget.
On the need for the continued war on terror...
"We are staying on the offense -- striking terrorists abroad -- so we do not have to face them here at home"
On the American spirit and the tragedy of 9/11...
We world saw that spirit three miles from here, when the people of this city faced peril together, and lifted a flag over the ruins, and defied the enemy with their courage. My fellow Americans, for as long as our country stands, people will look to the resurrection of New York City and they will say: Here buildings fell, and here a nation rose.
On the future of America...
"We will build a safer world and a more hopeful America, and nothing will hold us back"By promoting liberty abroad, we will build a safer world. By encouraging liberty at home, we will build a more hopeful America. Like generations before us, we have a calling from beyond the stars to stand for freedom. This is the everlasting dream of America -- and tonight, in this place, that dream is renewed.
Yes!
I was also moved when he talked about visiting the 9/11 site and when he talked about visiting with the troops. That was REAL emotion coming from his heart, not acting. In fact, Karl Rove didn't want Bush to do this part of the speech because he didn't think Bush could get through it without his eyes tearing up. Bush didn't care. He did it anyway, wet eyes and all. And it was real.
Later on that evening, John Kerry conducts a MIDNIGHT speech with a kneejerk reaction to Bush's speech. He babbled on and on about.. guess what... VIETNAM? Hey John, we're over Vietnam. Get over it.
Then he attacks the Vice Presidential candidate, Dick Cheney, over the fact that he had five deferments from military involvement. Um... ok. Who attacks the VP candidate in an election? Who really CARES?
This, my friends, is why John Kerry is going to lose... BIG. He has nothing to offer except anger. He doesn't even have a legitimate plan. Nothing but lies. And let's face it. Nobody really likes John Kerry. No one knows who he really is! For the people that HATE Bush, and they do hate him, they could care less who their candidate is. But for Bush supporters, they LOVE their President.
Meanwhile, around the world, terrorists are still on the move. Who can we trust to continue the fight? George W. Bush is our man. I trust him with the Presidency. I trust him with my family. I trust him with America's future.
My prediction? The angry voices and smear attacks of the left against this godly man will continue and escalate. They will try every lie in the book to attack his character, his policy, his Christianity, his past, ad infinitum. But the majority of the American people will see through it. John Kerry will become a blip of a footnote in history, alongside Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis.
George W. Bush in a November blowout.
