This bit of disgusting news hit the wire today...
Bill on Hil: It's a maybeHis hint she may run in '04 shocks Dems
Clinton loyalists were startled yesterday to hear former President Bill Clinton suggest that his wife hasn't made up her mind yet about running for the White House.Asked in Monterey, Calif., on Tuesday about chatter that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) might join the crowded Democratic field, the former President hinted that it remained an open question. "That's really a decision for her to make," he said, according to The Californian newspaper.
But I thought she promised that she would complete her term as New York Senator? And some of you people BELIEVED her?
I'll say this. If the people of the U.S. are stupid enough, ignorant enough, and lacking enough discernment to actually VOTE for this evil woman, you are going to drag our country completely down the tubes. (Wait. Just realized that a bunch were stupid and ignorant enough to vote for her despicable husband... twice. Even more amazing that you still stand behind this failure of a President.)
I wouldn't say Hillary is the anti-Christ because it isn't biblically possible, but I can say with no reservations that she is pure EVIL.
In my humble opinion. ;-)
P.S. - oh, the photo? That's sweet little Hillary kissing the wife of known terrorist, Yassar Arafat. Kiss, kiss.

Joel,
For someone to be pure evil, they must be utterly without redeeming value. Now, I think John Ashcroft has done some evil things. The Christian Coalition has sometimes distorted candidates' voting records in evil ways. President Bush did evil by telling grand lies in convincing us to go to war against Iraq. Richard Nixon lied, deceived and abused as president. Enron executives did massive evil by plunder and manipulation. However, I would not describe any of the above as pure evil. Pure evil is incapable of redemption because there is nothing to redeem. Pure evil has no capacity to repent or to love or accept Christ. So, as much as you might rightly despise what Hillary Clinton stands for, for you to describe her as pure evil is to place yourself as more knowledgeable than God. It is to make yourself the judge of the world. Yes, we are to make moral judgments, to discern good from evil. But that is not the same as judging someone's soul.
Politicians I consider the most possessed of evil include Jesse Helms and the late George Wallace. However, I would classify neither as pure evil, nor would I judge whether or not they are or were Christians.
Depending on the candidates, I might vote for Hillary. However, I am currently a supporter of Howard Dean, with Wesley Clark as my second choice.
Why you would add "in my humble opinion" escapes me, for I haven't been able to discern that you are possessed of any signigicant humility.

If you'll note, there was a "wink" at the end of my comment, to allude that there was nothing humble about my opinion. The beauty of having your own blog is you can rant about whatever you darn well please. Were you to meet me in person, I'm certain your assessment would be quite different.
As for Hillary, "by their fruits you will know them". I believe she has sold her soul for power and is now controlled by the very source of evil. Is there a chance for redemption? Until her dying day. Should we pray for her? Absolutely. But until I see a change in her, I want her nowhere near my government. I can call a spade a spade. And I know a duck by its quack.
Oh, and if you would vote for her, might I persuade you to move to Canada or Sweden where the countries already have been destroyed by the same philosophies she supports? Please?

Oh what mere humans will do to obtain power, fame, money and riches....
Hilliary, Bill and no, not another RAZORBACK Wesley Clark. We'll title this book "It takes a village (IDIOT)" or "Once Twice... Oh NO not twice and if Hilliary and Wesley are a team three times a...." My suggestion, let's give a state that has real schools and a real education system a chance to put in a President!
Sorry had to put in my two cents worth!!!!

Joel,
I served my country for six years in the military, thank you kindly, so I served to help give you the privilege of spewing your hateful venom. I'm an American, Louisiana born, Oklahoma bred, proud of it. I would not take up citizenship in any other land. If I met you in person, my opinion of you would probably be much worse than it is now, for your "fruits" would then be on display in person. However, I only consider you wrong, not evil. I even consider you to be a Christian; not a very nice person in certain ways, but a Christian nevertheless who has a sincere faith. If I met you in person, I'd try to find out a few things we have in common. Do you like C.S. Lewis? Lord of the Rings?
I have more conservative friends than liberals ones. These friends are fans of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity. I also know a few people who perhaps consider me to be an enemy. However, in all my life you are the only person who has ever suggested that I move out of the country.
All of us ought to dwell on Romans 12:3 a little more.

Nah, people generally like me. I'm easy-going and far more compassionate than my tone on the blog may indicate. You'd probably enjoy a nice healthy debate with me in person over an order of cheese fries at Chilis. And I promised myself that I was not going to converse on my blog, just post my thoughts and let people comment as they wish. But, you got me. :-)
Would I rather people leave the country than support those who would seek to drive our country further into depravity? Alec Baldwin and Barbra Streisand, among others, promised to leave if Bush got elected. Darn it, they are still here, whining about it all the while.
THANK YOU for your service to our country! It is much appreciated. And for the record, I can't imagine considering you an enemy. Anyone who reads and participates in my blog is a friend, whether I agree with their ideas or not. And I agree about dwelling on Romans 12:3. Remember, Christians are far from perfect. We are just forgiven, and answer to a much higher calling.
I Love C.S. Lewis and I'm learning to love Lord of the Rings. Got The Two Towers DVD a couple weeks ago and just have not had the time to give it a viewing.
What part of OK you reign from?

Ponca City, where I learned the art of street fighting among a sea of Republicans and Baptists. Once Oklahoma Republicans started denouncing Henry Bellmon as a liberal, I knew that Oklahoma Republicans were increasingly becoming a party of flat-earthers. My first significant vote was cast for Henry Bellmon in 1974. The only Republican I have voted for recently is Steve Largent, primarily because I am an ardent foe of lotteries.
Yeah, we'd probably get along fine. You are at least nicer than Michael Savage. :<)

LOL! We were JUST in Ponca City last weekend to teach our kids about OK History, since we homeschool. We went to the Pioneer Women's Museum and Standing Bear Memorial before heading to Stillwater, Perkins and Perry for additional touring. We stood on the meridian line dividing government and Indian territories.
Look, Christians as a whole have NEVER had it all together. Look at what they did to the Indians. I don't think the brutalization of the natives was part of God's plan for America. I am certain slavery was not part of His plan. Yet, I am certain that America IS part of His plan. I believe without reservation that the Founding Fathers had specific spiritual intent when birthing this nation. And I can visibly see the effects that the removable of God from the public square has had on our culture.
But that's another entry all together...

Joel,
I have some different perspectives on society's breakdown. I believe that it has more to do with capitalism that isn't reigned in by submission to Christ than it has to do with school prayer. For example, increasingly people who have the dough are electing to live in "gated" communities. Safer, yes, but not in keeping with God's implied reply to Abel's answer of "Am I my brother's keeper?" Now I don't take the Genesis passage to mean that we are our brother's nanny, but certainly the question of who are neighbors are is somewhat lacking in today's society.
Pornography, gambling, crime, divorce, and greed are a big part of our culture's breakdown. However, I believe these things can be traced to a spiritual void that is largely unrelated to whether there is prayer in school or ten commandments in courthouses. As to school prayer, I favor public school students being able to lead prayer in the classroom, but not teachers. I favor students being able to give prayer before athletic events, but not pastors. I favor display of the Ten Commandments both in schools and at courthouses, but I think going as far as Judge Moore did with his monument raises difficult Constitutional questions.
I part with most Christians on the topic of homosexuality. On that issue, I would recommend one of the following two books: "Homosexuality and Christian Faith: Questions of Conscience for the Churches" (Fortress, 1999), edited by Rev. Walter Wink or "The Loyal Opposition: Struggling with the Church on Homosexuality", Abingdon, 2000, edited by Rev. Tex Sample and Rev. Amy E. DeLong. I don't have any illusions that either book would move your views an inch, but you might get a better idea where your opposition comes from on this issue.
I'm way off post, but then that is partly the nature of blogging.
For a summer, I worked for the Pioneer Woman Museum, giving tours, greeting folks, cleaning the display cases, and picking up trash.
If you are in Ponca for a longer time in the future, take your family swimming at Wentz or on a tour of the Marland Mansion (well, maybe kids wouldn't like the latter). Or check out the Ponca City Public Library on Grand Avenue. It has a real library feel.

Evil really is a magtter of perspective. Most of the time it seems to involve some form of selfishness. but selflessness doesn't pay the bills. :(

Politicians have always been in it for some kind of agenda. The problem is that we keep wanting to believe in them.

Politicians juggle their interests and our interests. The point is to keep up public pressure so they can't escape the latter.
