The news is out. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Conner is retiring from the Supreme Court. I know she has struggled with cancer and I wish her well with her health and family life. However, I could not be more delighted that she is leaving a vacancy on the highest court in the land. In fact, I am reminded of the elated feeling that the munchkins felt when Dorothy's house landed on the Wicked Witch of the East. We'll have to wait until Ruth Bader Ginsburg departs the bench to celebrate the end of true evil on the Supreme Court, but this will do for now.
Justice O'Connor has been the swing vote that has helped propel the court to so many terrible decisions over the past twenty years. I hope President Bush has the courage to appoint another judge in the philosophy of Scalia or Thomas to fill this vacancy. Since this current court has done so much damage to our Constitution, a socially conservative Justice could do much to get our nation back on track.
Of course, I fully expect the Democrat senators to illegally filibuster good nominees. And I expect limp-wristed Republican senators to cow to them. Here's hoping they can get some cajones and do the right thing.
For now, join me in singing... "Ding dong the witch is... retired..."

Oh why am I not surprised that you would call Sandra Day O'Connor a witch? It is never enough for you to say that you don't like someone's policy. It must be that they are pure evil, the devil incarnate, the vilest of the vile.
Joel, if you went to hell you wouldn't even notice it. You burn with such fire and heat of character assassination that it couldn't be any hotter than what so irrationally seems to burn within you.
I only check in now and then, just hoping that something you post would be done with the compassion of Christ. But you see the anti-Christ behind every tree and under every rock.
I wouldn't be surprised if you were a man in your 20's. But aren't you getting a little old for this nonsense?

I sure hope the democrats we put in office do their best to protect the rights of the 56+ million rational people in this country. The idiots are so powerful these days.. I feel so left out!

Joel T,
You take it WAY to seriously. Remember the Wizard of Oz? You know, "Ding dong, the witch is dead..."
There is good in this world and there is evil. Jesus said, "If you are not for me, you are against me." Whether people know it or not, they choose sides.
I do not wish ill on Ms. O'Conner, and I clearly said so. I am just delighted that she is vacating her seat on the highest court in the land! She has been a terrible justice, in my opinion. She has not held up the law of the land, but has sided with those who have made it their life's mission to legislate from the bench, creating a great deal of trouble for our nation.
Your post towards me is at least as "vile" as that which you accuse me of.
I comment on that which stirs me. I'm sorry you don't see Christ in me. But there are those who look for whatever they want to see, in order to not see Christ. Always have been.. always will be.
Call me if you ever in OKC area. We'll grab a frozen custard and you might actually end up liking me. :-)

IdiotPolice... the democrat leadership is not looking out for you. They are looking out for the special interests that have bought them. Trial attorneys. Teacher's unions. AFL/CIO. Pro-abortion advocates. They don't give a rip about the constitution... or you. All they want is to make our President look bad and cause harm to our military. Traitors. Sad? Yes. But true.
