I get ticked off with my cell phone from time to time. Spring PCS is not always "free and clear". Just 1/2 mile from my home in suburban OKC is a dead zone. Makes me crazy.
Apparently, some guy in North Dakota lost it in a Verizon store.
Man Hurls Phones, Causes $2K Store Damage May 14, 2004 11:40 a.m. ESTFARGO, N.D. - A man who said he was fed up with his cellular phone service went to a Fargo mall and started hurling phones across a store, striking an employee and causing more than $2,000 in damage, authorities said.
Jason Perala, 22, of Fargo, told The Forum newspaper that he planned only to yell at employees at Verizon Wireless.
"Then I just lost it," he said. "I just started grabbing computers and phones and throwing them. I just destroyed the place. ... I kind of regret that I did it, but I hope my message got across."
Police said Perala took off his shirt and put on safety glasses before throwing around computers, phones and other items.
One employee was struck in the shoulder by a phone before he and other workers dashed into an office, locked the door and called police, Sgt. Kevin Volrath said. Other businesses in the West Acres mall lowered their steel security gates during Thursday's incident.
Perala was arrested without incident and jailed on charges of felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor simple assault.
Bet they heard him loud and clear. And his checkbook will hear from them.

I praise Jason for going on his rampage. It's about time someone lost it. We (consumers) pay the cell phone companies and abide by their rules. Those of us that pay our bill on time and don't ask for much in return except good technical and customer service. You don't get it.
I had Verizon Wireless in Virgina Beeach, VA. When I wanted to buy a cell phone from an independent mobile cell phone company. Verizon prevented me from buying a phone. The mobile company told me that I had another eight months on my contract until I could by from them. I raced down to the main Verizon store. One employee there told me that's the way it is. If you don't like it, hit the door, plus I saw bad customer service. My hat is off to Jason. If you can locate an e-mail address for Jason, please send it to me. Thanks - Terence

I was the technician that was at the store when it happened. I called 911. See what you fail to realize, is that this moron washed his phone in his pants and expected a brand new free phone in return? He had insurance...he could of gotten a brand new phone for $50 dollars but decided to cause more then $2500 dollars in damage to the store. Our local newspaper only got his ridiculous side of the the story, and he is claimed as a hero? I wonder why he was arrested four more times in the next 3 months for disorderly conduct and fighting with others??? Ya, praise this moron all you want, but you need to know the facts.

wow, that anyone would praise someone for going on a rampage, putting people in danger, and using innocent employees as a scape goat for his anger against a company makes me not want to leave the house anytime soon.
people are nuts.
