The second Presidential debate took place this evening and President Bush took John Kerry to the woodshed on foreign policy and domestic issues. After an extremely disappointing first showing in last week's Miami debate, the President was focused, personable and knowledgable. Kerry came off as stiff, repetitive and a bit unsettled by Bush's strengths.
The President made a strong case for the war in Iraq, the economy, the environment, stem cell research and numerous other issues. He also finally prnounced the "L" word that is the kiss of death for Democrats... Liberal. He repeatedly pointed out that Kerry is a tax and spend liberal with the most liberal record in the Senate.
The fact is, the Kerry campaign is the most deceptive and dishonest campaign I have ever witnessed in my lifetime. The depths of depravity go beyond anything the Clintons ever did, if that is possible.
What amazes me most is that the mainstream media, the 527 groups, Michael Moore, George Soros and many others have done everything possible to discredit the President with their lies, spin and propoganda. Regardless, the President keeps and approval rating above 50%. Many are undoubtedly deceived. I am convinced that if people REALLY knew what John Kerry and the Democrat leadership really stood for, he wouldn't get 20% of the popular vote. As it is, the lies and deception are working with far too many people that have allowed their hate for the President to be manufactured by a liberal media that despises him. It is these sheep that are being led to the slaughter that we should fear. They are the ones who will go to any lengths to manipulate the election through voter fraud and attempt to intimidate people into not voting. Evil will stop at nothing to have its way.
May God be with us as the election nears. I pray He is merciful and doesn't give us the leader we truly deserve....
Got wood?

I guess I am a "sheep being led to slaughter" because I choose to see some validity in Kerry's comments. I would vote this year, but I am too late to register. However, I would vote for neither Bush nor Kerry since I see many problems with them both. I wouldn't want to be responsible for putting either of them into office. I would probably vote for Nader, but that is a wasted vote since he has no chance of being elected. Why must all people who choose to see some truth in Kerry and some fault with Bush be considered practically at the level of horrible sinners and on the path of destruction? And you say you are not judgemental. The liberals who bash Bush endlessly are also being unfair too, but the Christians and conservatives who place Bush on some sort of altar are also judgemental. They are both flawed. but Kerry made a good point about abortion ( on no - here I am a horrble infant killer talking ). My question is this, would you tell a girl forced into procreation by her own father to tell her father and keep the child?? if you said it was God's will, she would probably ask in grief and fear - did God want me to be forced into this? Abortion is wrong in most cases, but there needs to be exceptions to the rule that allow that girl TO MAKE HER OWN DECISION!! If abortion is illegal, she will be FORCED to continue her pain throughout life, pain that was not her fault. Forced procreation is the most heinous crime here, not abortion. Try telling that kid later in life that his father is his grandfather. See how well-adjusted he is. The girl may choose to have the abortion or she may not, but she needs to have that choice. It is on her head and noone elses that her extremely painful decison rests, and it is not even her fault. We need a President who sees this and stands for EVERYONE in this country. Not one who gets angry and flustered in a debate when his beliefs are questioned. Freedom of choice and freedom of religion are what this country stands for - let's start living up to those ideals. But what do I know, i'm just a sinner and an infant killer and a bleeding heart liberal who is leading this world into Satan's grasp. I have no heart, right? Even though my profession as a teacher and a counselor is helping kids every day to make something better of their lives. But i'm just "being led to the slaughter", right?

With all due respect Robert, I think that if you are not even registered to vote, you have no place talking about either of these candidates, nor the election in general on a blog site on the internet....or anywhere else for that matter. Years ago, I used to think voting was pointless and I would run my mouth all the time telling people what I thought about each candidate. All the while I was not even registered to vote! I never understood how absolutely wrong all of that was. Then several key people in my life: my wife, my mom and my friends put me in my place and basically told me to either register to vote or keep my mouth shut! It was some of the best advice I have ever been given in my entire life.

I think you should take both men in the totality of their actions. After you do that - the decision is clear as Joel has alluded to already . . . G.W. Bush.

"May God be with us as the election nears. I pray He is merciful and doesn't give us the leader we truly deserve...."
Ummm, you don't want the leader we deserve? What, Huh? I wonder who god is voting for? Oh, he's probably not even registered. Call me a sheep if you like. I won't be swayed to vote for that war happy, sneering idiot.

LV,
For a few months after 9/11, America was largely united. People were going back to church and spending more time with their families.
The angry, evil left despises all the good that our President stands for and will do anything to destroy him. Propaganda campaigns work on the minds of the willing masses who are hungry for red meat. Fahrenheit 911, moveon.org and the mainstream media have waged a very successful propaganda campaign for many minds in our nation, but there are those of us who will not be held sway by their hypnotic attempts to control or influence.
What does America deserve? Considering we are going down the same road as Sodom and Gomorrah, perhaps you can look at what happened to them.
You can vote for whoever you want. Just remember it is your children and my children who you are shooting in the foot.

Ah, I see now. You are saying that since we Americans are immoral we deserve Kerry for president. I'm not a relious person. It seems religion is the root of most conflict. Different religious beliefs clash and people end up thinking they are fighting for their god's will. Hogwash!
If I thought it was shooting children's feet, I wouldn't vote for Kerry. As it is I think Kerry is the best person for the job right now. I've never been one to get too involved with politics, but it seems to me that these are important times. So I'm making an effort to get involved. I don't believe we should have gone to war with Iraq. Sadam is an evil man, but linking him with 9/11 is misguided. Bush was too quick to go to war and put Americans in danger. I see that as the ultimate in immorality.
I also question Bush's tax cut for the wealthy. It seems that Kerry has a better economic plan for our future.
Can you convince me otherwise?
October 12, 2004 03:32 PM
You know, it just occurred to me that there is very little anyone can say on here that may make anyone vote any differently than they would otherwise. I just finished part of a debate about abortion that I actually thought was thought provoking and intelligent. Bu as I read through more comments here, all i can hear about is how liberals are so evil and conservatives are so good. Here's a thought - STOP LOOKING AT PEOPLE AS CONSERVATIVES AND LIBERALS AND LOOK AT THEM AS PEOPLE!!!!!Each person has his own viewpoint and each side has its flaws. Soddom and Gommorah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me say something here - Amerca IS falling into depravity with far too much emphasis on MONEY, the three letter word for copulation, DRUGS, and ALCOHOL. But this does not always have to deal with whether somone is a Conservative or has "found God" It deals with people who are increasingly selfish in this country and people who are either way to intolerant or way too apathetic to other's needs. Just because people believe that going to war with Iraq is wrong, does not mean that they are all brainwashed into believing "lies" of liberals. Some of them MIGHT just have a brain of their own and question the motives of the government, something that SHOULD be done in a democracy - remember the laws of checks and balances, so one part of government does not control too much? I'm sure if you guys had it your way, the government would be run by Conservatives and Christians. That is not fair, for it does not represent ALL Americans. Turning the government into a THEOCRACY does not make everything all right. But neither does turning government into ANARCHY either. BOTH CONSERVATIVES AND LIBERALS HAVE FLAWS. Deal with it and stop blaming one group of people for the state of this country. After 9/11 many people did unite, whether they believed in the same ideals or not, for a common good. Then things were forgotten. THAT UNITY IS THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA. GOING TO WAR TO KILL PEOPLE WAS NOT UNITY. It caused a split in this country that bred more hatred between Conservatives and Liberals - why can't people get it through their heads THAT WE ARE ALL ONE, regardless of our beliefs. Bush does not seem to understand this - all he does is blame liberals too. Get over it. Kerry is not a great man, but Bush is not either. Our children deserve a better future, and neither of these men are up for the job. But Kerry at least believes we should consult OTHER NATIONS before we act, so we don't act ARROGANTLY like Bush has done. (On, no, I guess I have fallen for the lies of the liberals and am a poor mindless lost soul, huh? ) Oh well, at least I have the intelligence to use my own mind. Pardon the cynicism, but I get tired of hearing both liberal bashing and conservative bashing. Everyone should have their own decision and choice without being ridiculed by others.

I am a born again, bible believing, washed in the blood Christian. I am a dove and hate war. As a matter of fact, I hate confrontation of any kind. But I have learned through painful experiences in my life; the problem of drug addiction in my family, total poverty, and the sudden death of my husband last year that being a Christian does not mean that we dismiss problems or bury our head in the sand. The people who killed 3000 people here in NY, one of them being the son of my friend Marie, are radical militant members of the nation of Islam. In the 1993 WTC bombing, in the bombing of the Cole, in the bombing of the US embassies, etc. they have always been at the heart of it. In Iraq, it is the bombs of the militant Islamic Iraqis that are killing the children there. It is the Islamic militant Islamics who are killing the Israeli children every day. The ones who survive are having human flesh combed out of their hair for days. It is the radical militant Islamics who are torturing and killing the children in Sudan. It is the same people who behead Americans, a Korean man and an British man. They hate us for 2 reasons; 1 being that we support Israel and the other because we are free, and they are not. The previous administration has already proven that ignorance does not solve this problem. Neither does talking. All this has been done. And still, here we are 3000 dead Americans later. I will vote for Bush for the same reason I voted for him in 2000. He is a man who says what he means and means what he says. He is willling and able to make the touch decisions, even when they are unpopular and generate hatred, as we have seen by the behavior of John Kerry. Both Kerry and his protege, Michael Moore, have done more to breed bad feeling about our country than Tokyo Rose did in the second World War. I hate war and wish we could all live in peace. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit want this too. But they also want us to have integrity and conviction. Kerry wants "global acceptance." I have always learned that it is time to do what is right, you dont need a truckload of friends to pat you on the back. You pray and go. I dont believe Bush will be re-elected. God is about to repeat history and He did with King Saul in the book of Samuel. The Israelites cried out for a king even when God did not want them to have one. But finally, God gave them what they wanted and it turned out to be the worst choice they ever made. How little society has changed since the days of the "stiff-necked" people. If ever we need the presence of God, it is now. "God, forgive us and bless us."
