Bitten by the Ebook Bug

Posted on April 11, 2005 04:21 PM by Joel Comm

It took me nearly ten years of being online, but I have finally figured out that there is more than one way to skin an Internet kitty.

I've been trying to earn a living with advertising dollars, not realizing the bounty of information that I have tucked away in my grey matter. Turns out people are willing to ante up a little coinage for me to share my knowledge.

My success with Google AdSense led me to create an ebook on making more money with AdSense.

Now, I realize that I also have a storehouse of info on several additional topics, including protecting your kids online, as well as online shopping.

I have been bitten by the ebook bug. And my business model may never be the same again. Watch for both ebooks before summer.

Joel what advice would you give to an aspiring E-book writer?

  2. Joel Comm Says:

Well Darren, first I would tell people to go read my interview with you! Click my name at the end of this comment to view it.

Then I would say to find a topic that you know a lot about. The more niched, the better.

If you can't write, outsource the book to a ghostwriter on elance.com.

Then spread the word by contacting sites that are related to your book. Give away free copies and encourage people to join your affiliate program.

Work it and work it hard. Don't give up!

Thanks Joel - appreciate that. Might have to put some time aside to start one.

I have to agree, I just got your book on Google advertising and am getting ready to "get to work" building some extra income.

I have been doing the opposite of you, making money from my grey matter and little or no advertising income. :)

    That is about to change!

If you need someone to put your words into ebooks, audio books, or multimedia (Camtasia video how-tos) let me know, that is what I do.

I really enjoyed your interview with "TheLostFiles.com" owner and I definitely will be putting the 9 public domain books material (and other public domain and master rights materials I have) to good use these next few weeks.

Thanks again for this info and have a great day!

    Joel,

Can the concepts covered in Adsense-Secrets be applied equally well to a blog? Would it be as successful?

    Regards,
    Werner

  6. Joel Comm Says:

    Werner,

Absolutely! In fact, you will see AdSense on all my blogs. It is a perfect platform for targeted advertising.
