A Trip to the Blue Mountains

Posted on June 9, 2008 01:35 PM by Joel Comm

We hopped a tour bus to the Blue Mountains on Monday. It was the Queen's Birthday, so the country was on holiday and the traffic was light.

It was actually a small passenger van and there was only nine of us along with the driver. He was a very knowledgable and entertaining native who made the trip better by his presence.

We stopped at a Wildlife Park, learned to toss a boomarang, toured the Blue Mountains area, enjoyed a nice meal and got to explore the Australian countryside. All in all, a very nice day.

    Hey Joel,

Glad to see ya had a good time. I was born In Sydney - South Coogee.

You should get yourself over to Queensland and take a trip to their Park Resort.

BTW, watch out for those Kangaroo's they can pack a nice punch. ;)

I'm surprised Australia took a day off being the Queens Birthday, from what I was aware going back when Keeting was in Parliament, they disowned her saying how they didn't want England And Australia being part of the commonwealth.

Any ways up, hope you're enjoying your Stay there, and stay away from the Kangaroo Meet bud, it gives you constipation something chronic.

Have a safe flight back. ;)

    All the best

    Loz

Wow, damnit. I just got back from Blue Mountains as well. Since it's the Queen's Birthday (national holiday), we took Friday-Monday and did some serious walking. Could have been awesome to meet you in person :) Next time!

    Hi Joel,

Welcome to the land 'Down Under' Thank you for posting your video of our magnificent Blue Mountains. We tend to take for granted how beautiful our country really is and it's video's and comments like yours that give us all a gentle reminder.

The Queens birthday is actually in April, I understand the birthday celebration and public holiday was held on the monarch birthdate until the death of Queen Elizabeth's father and since then it has been held mid year.

Enjoy the rest of your stay in Oz and keep all that good IM information flowing.
