We're picking up in part 9 of this ongoing series. To start at the beginning, visit the dot.com story archives
One of the first things I did was to submit the site to every search engine, newsgroup and message board I could find. A Yahoo search displays 36 entries to WorldVillage sites. Of course, we were happy with the original one that helped launch our traffic.
I'll never forget the thrill of receiving the coveted "cool site" awards from just about anyone who was willing to recognize us. September 21, 1995 found us as Spider's Pick of the Day. Spider was Bob Allison, a recognized name in early web design.
Other awards followed: Cybertown's Site of the Week, Compuserve Cool Site of the Week, CoolLynx of the Day, Dynamite Site of the Night, MSN Site of the Week, Mecklermedia I-World Cool Site of the Day, and dozens of others. Out of these early awards listed, only MSN is still in existence. You may view our awards here. I stopped keeping track of awards in November 1997. It was just getting ridiculous to keep up with it. I'll discuss some of the more prominent recognition received as the story unfolds.
As a sidebar, I remember when Cool Site of the Day was a legitimate source of cool sites. EVERYONE and their mother wanted to receive the "Cool" award from these folks. You know how you get to be cool these days? Send them money. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Have you ever been invited to appear on James Robisons TV program talking about your company? If not, contact him in Ft. Worth. He has recently featured Christians in Business.
Be Blessed, Indeed!
